On May 31, in the German city of Rust, on the eve of the European Football Championship, the Miss Euro 2008 beauty contest was held, in which 16 girls from Euro 2008 participating countries took part.
The girls went to the podium three times – in an evening dress, in a bikini, and above all, in the football uniform of the national team of their country.
The winner of the Miss Euro 2008 contest was the 22-year-old Dominica Huzvarova from the Czech Republic. The second was named the representative of Turkey Filiz Heilmann, and the third place was taken by the Greek Mariola Shabanaj.

Last weekend, in the German city of Rust, the first ever Miss Euro 2008 beauty pageant was held to coincide with the European Football Championship, which starts this week. The competition was attended by girls from all 16 countries participating in the championship of the continent.
The winner was 22-year-old Dominika Gusvarova from the Czech Republic, vice-miss – Filiz Helimann (Turkey) and Mariola Shabanay (Greece). Russia was represented by Ekaterina Kurochkina.
The girls appeared on the podium three times – in the football uniform of the national team of their country, in an evening dress and in a bikini. “Miss EURO 2008” was determined by a jury of ten people, including the 1990 World Champion in the German national team Guido Buchwald.
Trying on the crown, Guzvarova said she was happy to win in such a competition and wished Czech soccer players to repeat her success. She admitted that she loves football very much, and men in shorts look very attractive.
Dominika Guzvarova is a famous model, winner of the Czech Miss Bikini 2007 contest. The runner-up, Phyllis Heilmann, herself plays soccer for the Melesdorf women’s team.
