The finale of the XVIII National Competition “Miss Ukraine 2008” was held in the metropolitan palace “Ukraine”.
Judged by the show, in particular, the daughter of ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Elena Franchuk, the famous Russian singer Natalya Koroleva, Miss World 2007, 23-year-old Chinese woman Zhang Zilin. Minister Yuri Pavlenko, editor Dmitry Gordon and many other famous personalities were seen in the hall.
The most beautiful Ukrainian woman of this year, Irina Zhuravskaya, was born in 1990. She is the owner of the Miss-Internet title, as well as the title of vice-miss of the Miss Donbass Open – 2007 contest. She is also a TV presenter – she conducts a weather forecast on the Kiev TV channel.
The winner received a crown worth $ 500 thousand.
Crown “Miss Ukraine” cost Zhuravskaya at least five million dollars
The author of the first forecast that Miss-Ukraine will be won by the niece of the deputy mayor of Kiev, Irina Zhuravskaya, publisher Valid Arfush, believes that the organizers of the contest have very well chosen the date for its holding. He told Starjournal correspondent about this.
The editor of Paparazzi magazine said that the competition was not accidentally held right before the Easter and May holidays. According to him, a long weekend will completely drown out a possible scandal.
“The organizers acted very cunningly. In order to make it difficult to comment on the victory of Irina Zhuravskaya, they picked up ugly candidates. Thus, the jury had no choice. Nevertheless, one of the jury members, my friend, called me yesterday and told me how he was asked to vote for Zhuravskaya, ”Arfush said.
According to the editor, in April, Mr. Zhuravsky met with the mistress of Miss World in Kiev and publicly promised her that the city would help hold the final of the grand contest.
“As we know, the price of such a promise is at least five million dollars. The idea is this: you give the crown to my protégé, and I give money from the city budget to Miss World. Therefore, Irina Zhuravskaya won, ”Arfush summed up.
