Largest military exercises after restoration of independence take place in Latvia

Namejs 2018 international military exercises began in Latvia, in which 10,000 people from Latvia and dozens of other countries will take part and which will become the largest since the restoration of the country’s independence.

The exercises launched on August 20 will be held in 36 regions of the country and will last until September 2.

Their military men were sent to Latvia to participate in maneuvers, in particular, Albania, the USA, Czech Republic, Italy and Canada.

During the exercise, the ability of the units to raise the level of preparedness and advance to the place of the mission in response to the threat will be tested. In addition to field operations, the Latvian army will also test its readiness for cyber attacks.

The largest in history, these exercises will be for the State Police. In the context of the Namais, law enforcement officers will conduct Nemieri 2018 exercises. According to the scenario, events will develop in two cities – Valmiera and Jekabpils. According to the representative of the State Police, Edgar Perijs, the legend of the exercises provides for authorized pickets and meetings, during which freedom of assembly is used by people who aim to seize power using weapons, after which the events escalate.

Doctors and firefighters until August 23 will work out actions in the collapse of buildings with many victims.
