NATO ships arrived in Odessa
On March 17 the ships of the NATO Permanent Naval Anti-Mine Group No. 2 (SNMCMG2) arrived at the port of Odessa on a visit to the rear admiral K. Chernitsky (ORP KX CZERNICKI, Polish Navy) headquarters ship, and the Douro sea minesweepers ”(ESPS DUERO, Spanish Navy), Rottweil (FGS ROTTWEIL, German Navy), and Alanya (TCG ALANYA, Turkish Navy).
Within the framework of the visit, protocol meetings of command and ship commanders with the leadership of the Ukrainian Navy, the Odessa Regional State Administration and the Odessa City Council are planned.
The program of the visit also provides for conducting classes on fighting survivability of ships, visits to NATO ships by Ukrainian Navy personnel, and sporting events between SNMCMG2 and Ukrainian Navy personnel.
The crews of the ships of the compound also await a cultural program and a city tour.
March 18 from 14.00 to 16.00 the ships will be open for visitors and residents of Odessa.
The ship’s visit will last until March 20, the press center of the Ukrainian Navy Command reported.
