Digital Services Act
In all EU countries, the Digital Services Act (DSA) came into force on February 17, obliging all Internet platforms and social networks to take measures to protect users from illegal content, goods and services.
Posts that promote hatred, aggression or contain misinformation are subject to prompt removal.
Particular responsibility falls on large online platforms with more than 45 million users in the EU, such as Facebook, Amazon and Google. For very large platforms, DAS regulations apply as of August 25, 2023. They are under the direct supervision of the European Commission. Users have the opportunity to submit complaints about very large platforms directly to the regulator.
