On December 15 the Austrian ski resort Ischgl became the epicenter of world beauty: 40 finalists from all over the world competed for the prestigious titles and crowns of the Queen of the World 2007 International Beauty Contest.
The three-hour show program consisted of exits in national costumes, evening dresses, swimsuits, interviews for the Top 10 and the ceremony of the coronation. Maria Cherkunova, a 17-year-old representative of Ukraine, despite the fact that this beauty contest was the second in her life, was able to adequately perform at all stages of the popular two-week competition and received a well-deserved award – the title of 1st Vice Queen of the World 2007. The Top 5 also included representatives of Serbia, Croatia, Australia. And the title of Queen of the World 2007 was awarded to Florina Curelea from Romania. 17-year-old Ukrainian Maria CHERKUNOVA became the first vice-queen of the World 2007.
According to the press service of the National Committee “Queen of the World – Ukraine”, this title was awarded to her on December 15 following the results of competitions for the prestigious titles and crowns of the Queen of the World 2007 International Beauty Contest.
According to the press service, the competition was held in the Trofana Arena concert hall in the Austrian ski resort Ischgl. The three-hour show program consisted of exits in national costumes, evening dresses, swimsuits, interviews for the Top 10 and the ceremony of the coronation.
“A competent jury, consisting of 19 representatives of countries from all over the world, appreciated both the young beauty herself and the wardrobe carefully selected by Kiev designer Oksana POLONETS for the competition program. Maria’s output in a national costume with hand-embroidered and painted in Ukrainian style “, noted in the Committee Queen of the World – Ukraine.
The Ukrainian beauty M.CHERKUNOVA was crowned last year’s winner – Lizzet Garcia (Cuba).
The Top 5 also included representatives of Serbia, Croatia, Australia. And the title of Queen of the World – 2007 was awarded to Florina KURELEA from Romania.
“I did not expect such a high result in the competition,” CHERKUNOVA admitted. “There was a very strong composition of the contestants who took part in many international competitions, but the desire to bring victory and glory to my country all over the world was precisely the decisive factor that contributed to my successful performance. “
On December 17, M. CHERKUNOVA and the official delegation of the National Queen of the World – Ukraine National Committee will arrive in Boryspil.
