The Lithuanian President called for increased security in the Baltic States with the help of US troops after meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Vilnius.
“The build-up of Russian military power on NATO’s eastern border is changing the security situation,” President Gitanas Nauseda said in a statement released after the meeting.
“It is critically important to strengthen regional security (of the Baltic countries) with additional troops from the United States and accelerate cooperation in the field of military procurement,” he added.
