Moldavians rush to Europe
In Moldova, the issuance of Schengen visas began under the new rules in accordance with the Agreement on the simplification of the visa regime. Moldova and the EU signed this document on October 10, 2007, and it entered into force on January 1, 2008.
The agreement provides for a number of benefits for Moldovan citizens, in particular, maintaining the previous visa price at the level of 35 euros, issuing free visas to 16 categories of citizens, including students, children, journalists, participants in cultural and sports events, drivers, pensioners.
Significantly reduced and the processing time of visa applications. Visas are issued to Moldovan citizens within 10 days from the date of application and the necessary documents.
