EU countries have 20 million migrants
In the countries of the European Union there are up to 20 million migrants. These data are presented in a special report on migration in the EU, prepared by the European branch of the international charitable organization Caritas Europa.
Migrants, according to the European sociological services, are by far the least socially protected and are in the most distress.
Meanwhile, migrants play an important role in the process of economic development of the EU states.
Migrants in the EU are called third-country nationals with temporary or permanent residence permits. The concept of a migrant includes immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and other forms of state protection, as well as returnees.
