The finals of the Miss Europe 2006 contest ended in Kiev, and France’s representative Alexandra Rosenfeld won. Ukrainian Alena Avramenko
became the first vice-miss of Europe, the organizing committee of the competition said.

In total, the competition lasted more than two hours. After the competition in swimsuits, 12 contestants from 32 went to the semifinals: representatives of Ukraine, Finland, Moldova, Norway, Armenia, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Spain, Belarus, Poland, Germany.

Representatives of Ukraine, France, Poland, Belarus and Spain reached the finals after the competition in evening dresses (compositions on the theme of the 30s) and after a mini-interview.

After leaving Roberto Cavalli in evening dresses, the title of Miss Europe 2006 was won by the representative of France. Ukrainian, a student at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, became the first vice-miss, the second – Spaniard, and the third and fourth vice-miss – representatives of Poland and Belarus, respectively.

For the victory, the Frenchwoman, in addition to the crown, worth 350 thousand euros, received prizes – a trip to the French resort of Meribel for two weeks, an evening dress from Roberto Cavalli, a necklace from Chopard and a cash prize of 50 thousand euros.

The international beauty contest “Miss Europe” is one of the three most prestigious beauty contests in the world, along with “Miss Universe” and “Miss World”.
